Job Title: Manager, Software Engineer Job ID: 20874 Job Location: Greenville, TX Job Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: L3Harris is currently seeking a Manager, Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility and offers a 9/80 schedule. Essential Functions: Serve as functional leader for business area, managing a team ranging from entry-level to experienced engineering professionals Proactively manage staffing levels (supply vs demand) across numerous labor categories (e.g. full-time engineers, contractors, etc.) and projects. Work in partnership with interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic objectives for both the business and functional areas. Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of work area in support of functional strategy. Influence acceptance of new practices, approaches, and technologies in software engineering. Document software designs, practices, and development procedures. Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams. At times, may manage scope, schedule and technological direction. Provide mentorship to individual contributors, fostering the development of talent and expertise within the organization. Basic financial acumen with the ability to discern how operational changes can enhance profitability. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S Citizenship. Preferred Additional Skills: TS/SCI Clearance 5+ years of experience with software configuration management and DevOps technologies. Experience in Agile development methodologies using Scrum. Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). 5+ years leading engineering teams Independent work ethic, following verbal or written instructions with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Exceptional organizational skills: disciplined approach to prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing concurrent responsibilities.
