Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
Specialty: School-Based Therapy
Shift: Day, 5x7.5-Hour (08:00 AM – 04:00 PM)
Job Duration: 30 Weeks
Location: Elizabeth, CO 80107

Responsibilities:

• Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in implementing therapy plans for elementary school children, primarily K-2, with a range of speech and language disorders.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, following the treatment plan created by the SLP, to help students improve articulation, language development, fluency, and communication skills.
• Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress, and student behavior, ensuring all documentation is up to date and in compliance with school and state regulations.
• Work closely with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment, and provide support for students during academic activities.
• Receive ongoing supervision from a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), ensuring adherence to best practices and professional guidelines.
• Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to students to motivate and assist them in meeting therapy goals.

Licensure:

• Current Colorado SLPA License is required.

Experience:

• Previous experience working as an SLPA in a school or pediatric setting is preferred but not required.

Certifications:

• Current CDE License (Colorado Department of Education) required for school-based work.
