Salary:

As one of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s top contractors, ISS is seeking a Scriptwriting and Talent Consultant to support National Ocean Service (NOS) office.

Where you will be: This role is a fully remote and part-time role.

What you will do: Support the production of and assist in the development of videos for NOAA Ocean Today. The videos will be designed to connect with a variety of age groups, as well as various people groups through live action video and animation. This includes the following tasks:

• Maintain a high level of expertise in ocean safety techniques and research.
• Work with Ocean Today producers to write scripts.
• Assist in the recruitment of on camera talent for each location.
• Travel on-location to provide expert advice on geographical and cultural shooting needs, safety techniques, talent direction and narration adaptation.
• Serve as on-camera talent to describe specific techniques based on geographic location, and cultural sensitivities.
• Maintain strong communication with NOAA subject matter experts involved in the development and review of the videos to ensure all directives are consistent with general guidelines.
• Review Rough, Fine and Final Cuts of each video and provide expert feedback and analysis.
• Identify and assist in the distribution of the final videos to groups that will provide the widest possible impact to those affected by the videos including educators and community leaders.

What you bring: 

• Master’s degree in Communications, Fine Arts, or related field
• Four (4) years of general experience of which at least two (2) years must be specialized
• Highly skilled in written and oral communications
• Ability to convey complex ocean science topics to an audience of varied ages and levels of scientific knowledge
• Knowledge of ocean safety and science topics
• A self-starter, team oriented attitude
