General Summary:

This position maintains SKC Student Housing property and buildings to ensure a safe and clean environment for students and visitors. Position duties include complete inspection, repair, and cleaning/sanitizing of Dorms and Housing units, and coordinating and supervising outside contractors to repair and paint Dorms and Housing units. Maintenance tasks may include repairs of plumbing, electrical, minor furniture or appliance repair, minor repair of sheet rock, drywall, and/or painting, repair and sealing of floors, repair or replacement of doors and windows, and cleaning/sanitizing. This position works in coordination with SKC maintenance to maintain Housing units in good repair. Additional duties include moving furniture into units, purchasing parts and other maintenance supplies, stocking Dorms for move-in, minor grounds maintenance, and other related duties as directed by immediate supervisor. This position falls under the safety sensitive testing designated position and subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and clean property at SKC Student Housing.
• Clean and sanitize Dorms and Housing units as they become vacated.
• Complete repairs to maintain SKC Housing units and Dorms in good repair, which may include plumbing, electrical, furniture, and wall/floor repair.
• Complete daily walk through of SKC Dorms, laundry facility, and Family Housing.
• Inspect Dorms and Housing units at move-in/move-out and at request.
• Stocking and preparing Dorms for move-in.
• Daily minor grounds maintenance, including general pickup of garbage/trash.
• Supervision of part-time maintenance technicians and outside contractors.
• Accept assignments and maintain progress through the Kissflow system.
• Be accountable for tools, supplies, and equipment used in housing including but not limited to keeping them in good working condition, reporting issues immediately, and keeping good records and inventory. All tools, supplies and equipment will be maintained on SKC property and available when needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Montana Driver’s License.
• Three years’ experience in building repairs, including experience with plumbing and electrical.
• Six months experience in general house cleaning.
• Previous experience in building construction.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

• Ability to use computer systems.
• Provide self-direction for identifying and completing tasks.
• Work hours must be flexible to allow for working weekdays, weekends, days, evenings and holidays as needed due to emergency situations.
• Position physically demanding, individual must be able to lift heavy objects and work in all types of weather.
• Experience with appliance repair desirable but not required.
