CWB Architects and CWB Interiors form a multidisciplinary architecture and interior design firm committed to the principles of place, craftsmanship, and experience. Since its inception in 1995, our firm has grown from a two-person shop to a dynamic team of more than twenty-five architects and interior designers who work across a variety of projects throughout the Northeast.
We are seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our growing Interiors Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate on projects with architects and interior designers.
Work with clients and department director to establish design standards, scope of work and budget.
FF&E specification.
Assist in the preparation of client presentations.
Select samples and choose color palettes to be approved by client.
Assist in sourcing and selecting furniture new/vintage/antique/custom, lighting, and finishes.
Prepare lighting, hardware, paint, and material schedules.
Produce drawings in computer-aided design software.
Design architectural details such as millwork and custom furniture.
Communication and corresponding with vendors.
Attend site meetings and installations.
Coordinate with various trades throughout the project to ensure a seamless execution of all deliverables.
Assist in project admin: vendor quotes, client proposals, sample requests, POs, CFAs, reserves, department organization.
Assist and support procurement department.
Assist with receiving and management of project inventory.
Assist with photoshoot styling.
Follow up with clients to ensure design specifications have been met.
Job Requirements QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience with a strong background in design.
Candidates should be capable of delegating tasks and working efficiently under deadlines in a fast-paced, busy, and creative atmosphere.
Must hold a degree in interior design from an accredited university.
Prior experience with purchase orders and contract negotiations.
Preparation of proposals for clients in IVY (training available).
Knowledge of high-end contemporary and vintage design.
Detailed-oriented with strong project management skills.
Assist with receiving and management of project inventory.
Comfortable working within all phases of design process.
Knowledge of Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, V-Ray, and/or Rhino.
Ability to develop furniture plans, interior elevations, and details.
Demonstrable knowledge of high-end contemporary and vintage design.
Sourcing & Management of FF&E, including custom designs for high-end residential projects.
Preparation of budgets, schedules, and design presentations for principal & clients.
Liaising with suppliers & vendors.
Oversee & coordinate installations.
Ideal candidate has strong visual, hands-on crafting, creative panache.
A feel for color, texture, lighting, space, and ambience.
Creative and inspirational approach in responding to, and meeting, clients needs.
Confident demeanor, good sense of personal style.
Polished communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas.
Keen listening skills and the ability to accept and incorporate client feedback.
Negotiating skills.
This position will require the ability to lift 25lbs, the use of ladders, the use of hand tools and equipment including but not limited to box cutters, hammers, levels, drills/screwdrivers.
