Welder – Fabrication Yard Job Summary

The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding tasks within the fabrication yard. This role involves interpreting blueprints, setting up materials, and welding various components as per project specifications. The Welder must ensure that all welding work meets quality standards, industry codes, and safety regulations. Working as part of a team, the Welder will contribute to the overall fabrication process, ensuring that all work is completed on time and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Welder – Fabrication Yard Responsibilities 

• Perform welding tasks using various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Cored) on steel, aluminum, and other materials, following project specifications and blueprints.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine the correct welding procedure for each task.
• Set up materials and equipment for welding tasks, ensuring that workpieces are properly aligned, clamped, and tacked before welding.
• Ensure all welded joints meet project specifications and quality standards. Inspect completed welds for defects and correct any issues to maintain a high standard of workmanship.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring that they are in safe working condition. Report any malfunctions or necessary repairs to the Welding Supervisor.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Work effectively with other welders, fabricators, and team members to complete projects on time. Communicate any potential issues or delays to the Welding Supervisor.
• Record welding activities as required by the project or company standards, including material usage and job progress.

Welder – Fabrication Yard Position Requirmnets

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in welding within a fabrication yard, construction, or industrial environment.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored welding.
• Welder Certification (AWS, ASME, or equivalent).
• Additional certifications in specific welding processes or materials are a plus.
• Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with welding codes, standards, and procedures (AWS, ASME).
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and best practices.
