Under the supervision of the Director, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for assuring the drug therapy needs of the patient are met. There are five major areas of responsibility for the staff/clinical pharmacist. clinical pharmacy, drug distribution, teaching, administrative duties and conducting research. Compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.\n\nSHIFT/SETTING:\n\nLocation: Morristown, VT\nSchedule: Monday-Friday; 5x8\nSetting: Inpatient/Hospital\nCompensation: Weekly pre-tax pay of $2,793.40 (includes base hourly pay plus tax-free stipends for qualified travelers)\n\nCLINICAL HOSPITAL PHARMACIST RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n - Ensures safe, effective, and cost-effective use of drugs on behalf of the patient through the application of specialized knowledge, skills and professional judgment, while considering the patient’s individual condition.\n\n- Ensures participation and compliance with hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.\n\n- Provides audience appropriate drug information to providers, nurses, and patients.\n\n- Coordinates drug distribution services throughout the pharmacy enterprise.\n\n- Advocates for and supports formulary management and pharmacy and therapeutics initiatives.\n\n- Participates and contributes to department and organizational performance initiatives.\n\n- Provides direct supervision of pharmacy technicians and assistants.\n\n- Commits to instructing, modeling and coaching pharmacy staff, students and residents.\n\n-Reports adverse drug events and mitigates future patient safety risks through participation in medication quality activities.\n\n-Appropriately identifies and communicates opportunities of improvement to the medication use system and assists in solution implementation.\n\n -Familiar with unit dose, IV admixtures, computer skills, technical and clinical pharmacy practice.
