ABOUT Slate Slate is a new US company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space.
Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Senior UX Researcher to join our growing team.
What you get to do:
The Senior UX Researcher will help to understand our customers' needs and concerns for our vehicle program. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading impactful user research programs. They will be a part of the team responsible for defining how people interact with Slate products. The ideal candidate will be proficient at establishing User Experience (UX) processes to drive ease of use and consistency across Slate products – in and out of vehicle.
The responsibilities of the Senior UX Researcher include but are not limited to the following:
- Promote, and advise stakeholders on, the user-centric approach and apply UX methodologies to validate and inform design decisions.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, Brand, Design and HMI, Engineering and Software teams.
- Engage with, evaluate, and manage relationships with external research vendors as needed.
- Define the structure and methodology of Slate's UX research program, including the development of a summative test methodology.
- Conduct a mixture of qualitative and quantitative research activities to inform product design, including closed-loop validation of UX project execution for advanced projects.
- Help balance strategic and tactical insights, to ensure the team is solving the most critical user needs.
- Expertly articulate research plans, insights, and actionable UX recommendations to senior level stakeholders.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field, Bachelor's Degree in User Research, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related UX degree preferred.
- 8+ years professional work experience leading high impact user research efforts.
- An excellent command of interface design and evaluation; thorough knowledge and experience of a range of UX research approaches and methodologies is a must.
- Experience leveraging a broad range of research methodologies across the various stages of product development.
- Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, new interaction models, apps, and interactive interfaces of popular consumer electronics.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in both writing and speaking the English language.
- A deep understanding of accessibility and inclusivity in UX.
- Experience in automotive, or consumer electronics industries in the capacity of research preferred.
- Experience working within an agile development process preferred.
