Summary:
The Security Screener monitors the metal detectors at designated locations at Covenant HealthCare. This individual is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment free of hazards for Covenant HealthCare patients, guests, partners, buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities:
Manages the utilization of metal detectors to screen for contraband to ensure a weapons free zone.
Greets customers entering the premises
Assures the physical safety of patients, guests and partners on the premises according to established safety guidelines.
Handles unruly customers from a variety of backgrounds and personalities with positive outcomes utilizing PPCT and CPI
Training Requirements: Crisis Prevention Intervention PPCT Defensive Tactics Certification PPCT Violent Patient Management Certification OC (Pepper) Spray Certification

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS TYPE HERE
High School Graduate or equivalent required
Higher education in area of Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or Security is encouraged
CPR Certification encouraged
6 months experience in Security related field.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Basic computer knowledge/skills.
Excellent written and verbal skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Follows directions and prioritizes work assignments.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Frequently Stand, Walk, Use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk or hear, and lift up to 10 lbs.
Occasionally sit, lift or carry, push or pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, crawl, twist or reach, taste or smell, near vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, field of vision, lift up to 50 lbs.
