h5 Job Description An international sourcing company specializing in innovative solutions across diverse industries-such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology-is seeking a Sales and Business Development Associate to join its dynamic team in New York City.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a science-related field such as Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline. While over 2 years of sales experience is required, candidates with relevant work experience or internships in the business field are encouraged to apply, even if they lack direct sales experience.
Proficiency in Japanese at a business level is required.
Key Responsibilities Account Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with existing customers and suppliers.
- Facilitate meetings to promote new materials and suggest workflow/logistics improvements.
- Oversee project management duties to ensure seamless operations.
Business Development:
- Handle inquiries from new customers/suppliers and identify prospective clients through warm leads, cold calls, and visits.
- Conduct research to identify new suppliers/vendors and negotiate pricing to promote efficient supply chain solutions.
Client Support:
- Coordinate visits with overseas suppliers and accompany them to customer meetings to address supply chain or compliance issues.
- Support new business development by managing NDAs, coordinating sample evaluations, and proposing business models and workflows.
Marketing & Events:
- Represent the company at trade shows and exhibitions by coordinating registration, booth setup, and promotions.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop semi-annual sales forecasts and draft annual budgets for assigned accounts.
Other Responsibilities:
- Take on special projects as assigned by upper management.
Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in a science-related field such as Biotechnology, Biology, or Chemistry is required.
- At least 2 year of sales experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant work experience or internships in business will also be considered.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for research, reporting, and presentations.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a cross-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of biotechnology or biochemical industries is a plus but not required.
- Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally (requires a valid driver's license and passport).
