Job Description
4. Work hours (ex. 9am-5pm day/night shifts rotating shifts etc)? 9-5EST , M-F
5. What does this position accomplish for the business? This position will be working on a COC/ SPD project full time to help build out the coding for our benefit plans.
6. Please describe the team the candidate will be working with (number of team members break-down of the team?s skill sets team culture etc.). This individual will be working on a team with other certified coders and a few business analyst roles
7. What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position (please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis)?
1. Determine which codes belong to the language in the benefit plans
2. Review what peers have designated as correct coding
3. Facilitate any discussions needed to get to a coding document
4. Review audit results and make adjustments as necessary
5. Participate in project meetings
8. What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background specific industry experience etc.)? RN, Certified coder,
9. What skills/attributes are required (please be detailed as to number of years of experience for each skill)? Requires 3 + years’ experience with coding and reimbursement methodologies (e.g. CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, CMS,), 3+ years Certified Professional Coder (AAPC or AHIMA), 3+ years Active unrestricted RN license
10. What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart)? 3+ years Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Prior managed care experience.
11. Does this position require a professional license or certification? If so please list. Yes, AAPC or AHIMA certification.
12. What is the dress code (ex: business casual scrubs etc.)? n/a
13. How would you prefer to interview? (Video phone or in person? How many rounds?) phone, 2 rounds at most
