Job Description
Research Assistant Compound Management - Location Boston, MA Evotec (US) Inc. has a Compound Management Research Assistant position open, located at a Merck facility. The purpose of this position is to provide laboratory processing of client orders, the majority of which will involve manual weighing and liquid handling of compounds. The position requires a highly motivated individual able to work independently, and as part of a team, ensure the successful fulfillment of orders. This role is expected to have further due diligence and increased understanding of workflows, SOPs, etc. Responsibilities include performing the day-to-day work and participating in the workload scheduling.
The compounds may be potentially hazardous. Prior to start, Evotec (US) Inc. will train the individual in lab safety. Safety glasses, lab coats, and gloves will be required while working. Merck site specific training, automation, computers, and any other material will be provided in support of compound management activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: •Use of analytical balances, fume hoods and weighing enclosures, liquid handling instruments, and basic chemical handling procedures to process orders according to departmental timelines.
•Data handling, inventory tracking, accurate record keeping, shipping processes, and following Merck Standard Operating Procedures for assigned tasks.
Required Qualifications: •Chemical lab experience: pharmaceutical/biotechnology lab experience preferred.
•Operation of an analytical balance and use of liquid handling instruments; experience using Tecan and Biomek liquid handling instruments desirable.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to follow specific instructions and written protocols.
•Ability to multi-task, work independently, identify, and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
•Keep accurate records, work safely, and complete work on schedule.
•Experience using Titian's Mosaic compound management software platform is desirable.
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
Education and experience: BS or equivalent with scientific discipline and 1-2 years' experience
