The Research Assistant 3 (A) explores innovations to research and strives to improve implementation and family outcomes. The Research Assistant 3 (A) ensures compliance with University policies, rules, and regulations to meet federal, state, and local standards pertaining to safety and ethics.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Plans and implements research experiments, according to research protocols, to assure high-quality scientific results in support of applicable project goals. Participates in assessing the feasibility of implementing innovations. Assesses data trends and develops reports and presentations. Supports the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature. Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment and places orders in a timely fashion. Assists in the preparation of scientific papers, reports, and manuscripts. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM Department Specific Functions This position will provide support for a research study in the College of Nursing. The research assistant recruits participants, collects data and conducts data management for the research study under the supervision of the faculty. The research assistant may be required to work at various locations, including Miami Dade and Broward. Screens for potential participants who may be eligible to participate in the study Coordinates/schedules participants for interviews/data collection Recruit participants Completes the informed consents process Collects data by questionnaires Delivers the intervention Participates in the ordering and organization of data collection supplies Abstracts data from medical records, as needed Performs lab procedures to collect, transport and store biological specimens (e.g., blood, saliva), as needed Enters data into study databases (e.g., Qualtrics, RedCap) Prepares study materials Follows-up with participants by phone/ e-mail Maintains accurate records through daily data entry and tracking of participant data - Communicates with other research team members - Participates at weekly project meetings - Ensures data are maintained in proper format as required by study sponsor - Generates project reports to the supervisor or study coordinator
Department Specific Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred
Experience: Research experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: - Ability to meet deadlines and handle diverse tasks simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Creative thinking, self-direction and detail-oriented
- Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with multiple nursing faculty
- Familiar with programs such as Excel, Redcap, and Qualtrics
- Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
