Registered Nurse (RN) I - NICU - FT - Nights at Norman Regional Health System summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) I in the NICU provides specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III unit, focusing on family-centered care and collaboration with healthcare professionals. This position requires a current RN license, BLS certification, and preferably NRP training, along with the capacity to implement and evaluate patient care strategies. The role involves ensuring a safe environment, participating in ongoing education, and embodying the health system's ICARE values of Integrity, Communication, Attitude, Results, and Engagement.

Overview:

Compensation / Benefits

  • $27.84-$45.46/hr. depending on previous work experience.
  • Evening differential $2.50/hr.
  • Night differential $3.00/hr.
  • Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Norman Regional Health System Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a 25 bed Level III unit with a Neonatal Ground Transport Team. We focus on family-centered care. We have 5 Neonatologist on staff. We are looking for Healers who can encompass our Norman Regional Health System five care values: Integrity, Communications, Attitude, Results, and Engagement; or as we cal,l ICARE values. Responsibilities:

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning care strategy,
  • Establishing priorities of care, implementing care, delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care,
  • Evaluating responses to interventions, and performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications:

Education

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
  • Previous work history reflecting stable employment.
  • If no work experience, will consider school attendance and performance records.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

 

Licensure / Certification

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

 

Other Knowledge / Skills 

  • Must participate in Perinatal Continuing Education Program (PCEP) when offered at that hospital.
  • Must complete STABLE program within 1 year of hire and maintained if offered at NRHS.
  • Must attend breastfeeding classes as offered. Must attend required teach weeks/skills fairs and participate in emergency drills while on the job.
