Quality Assurance Specialist

100% Remote (MUST be located in Columbus, OH)

2-month Contract (with potential for further extension)

OVERVIEW

Brooksource is seeking a skilled mid-level Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist for one of our Public Sector clients to assist with a variety of upcoming programs, including a system modernization project. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring software quality through both manual and automated testing and analysis , and will collaborate closely with development teams , stakeholders , and end-users to identify and resolve issues .

RESPONSIBILITES

• Reviewing software requirements and user stories and preparing test scenarios .
• Designing and developing automation and manual testing scripts .
• Executing all testing levels ( system , integration , regression , etc.) to confirm software meets requirements.
• Detecting and tracking software defects and inconsistencies .
• Providing support documentation on defects and test results .
• Preparing reports on all aspects of software testing carried out and reporting to the design team.
• Interacting with clients and/or vendors to understand product requirements as needed.
• Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements , product design , and potential problems .
• Providing timely reviews , designs , solutions , + documentation as required.
• Applying quality engineering principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle.
• Running and managing testing jobs and test calendars.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS + EXPERIENCE

• Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in quality assurance testing , such as performing systems analysis , developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications , performing testing , debugging , + code review , and/or assisting with analysis and design .
• Experience with both manual and automated software testing .
• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Systems , Mathematics , or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Must live in Columbus, OH - the position is 100% remote , but the candidate must be located in Columbus.
