Role: Product Owner/Technical Delivery Coordinator
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 6 month+ contract
Client: Large Hotel Client
PURPOSE:
The Technology Delivery Coordinator/Product Owner facilitates the planning, prioritization, tracking and other tactical activities for platform services delivery team. This role requires practical software delivery experience and project management techniques, as well as theoretical knowledge. The coordinator collaborates with software engineers within their team, and project managers across Technology disciplines. He/she aids with backlog management and the resolution of blocking challenges.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Establish strong working relationships and promote bi-directional communication within and across teams (Product, Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Operations).
•Organize, moderate, and demonstrate value-add principles and practices to the teams.
•Develop and execute plans, meeting deadlines, coordinating timelines and efforts and operating under tight time constraints.
•Effectively facilitate discussions and suggest alternative approaches.
•Be transparent and provide visibility to Business and Technology stakeholders.
•Develop and grow trust across technology and platform operations teams.
•Track, monitor, and escalate risks to primary stakeholders
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong organizational skills with excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and project management.
Intermediate to advanced understanding of basic software development methodologies and fundamentals (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, Waterfall, etc.).
•Experience with developing, testing and deploying software utilizing a rapid, iterative delivery method.
•Understanding of all facets of the software development life cycle including: planning, requirements management, development, quality assurance, change management and release management.
•Experience with lifecycle management tools and techniques (JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, Servicenow) .
PREFERRED SKILLS:
•Facilitate meetings with software engineers
•Coordinate efforts with other teams
•Provide daily administrative duties for team
•Support product owner
•Act as buffer between the team and any process overhead
•Eliminate impediments
•Help the team maintain their burndown chart and Kanban board
•Communicate with management and outside stakeholders
•Protect the team from uncontrolled injection of work
•Remove obstacles that affect the team
•Provide environment that will allow for each team member to focus
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
