PIPING MATERIAL ENGINEER

Location: 100% Remote in the US OR work out of the Downers Grove, IL office.
Job type: 2 months plus Contract assignment
Pay: $53.00 per hour or more (based on experience)

Our client, a national private EPC Firm, is hiring a Piping Material Engineer for a contract opportunity.

This can be 100% remote OR work out of the Downers Grove, IL office.
It is scheduled for 2 months but may go longer for the right individual OR go direct hire.

JOB HIGHLIGHTS
* Looking for someone with experience in putting together Technical Specs for Piping Material for vendors to review and quote.
* The candidate will also review the quote from the vendor to ensure accuracy from what is requested to what is quoted.
* Individuals must understand the Process Piping Code.
* Looking for 8-10+ years of experience minimum.
The Piping Material Engineer is responsible for supporting a key Refining and Petrochemical client with the preparation of pipe material and manual valve specifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Prepare ASME B31.3 piping material specifications specifying materials to be used as well as piping components for given service conditions.
* Perform and check ASME B31.3 pipe code wall thickness calculations.
* Prepare manual valve specifications.
* Attend Client, Vendor, and Internal Team meetings. REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* 10+ years of piping material and manual valve experience working in the Refining, Petrochemical, or Chemical Industries.
* Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal, and Written)
* Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work in an interactive and open team environment.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Must be organized, and self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment, and take direction from others. ESPO Corporation
