Overview
We are a personal injury law firm seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team! This is a great entry level position for someone who wants to learn about the practice of law, but who also enjoys a life outside of work and appreciates the flexibility of a part-time job.
Responsibilities
* The most important thing is to be reliable! The right candidate will have a genuine interest in learning about the law and love coming to work.
* Duties include familiarizing yourself with our clients and cases, communicating with clients on a regular basis, and helping the attorneys and staff with administrative tasks.
* Manage attorney calendars and schedule appointments.
* Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, and trials.
* Utilize legal databases such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis for research purposes
Experience
- Previous experience in a legal setting is not required
- Proficiency in using computer programs like Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Organizational skills
- Excellent writing ability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
