Operations Engineer - Offshore Drilling Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to support our offshore drilling operations. This role focuses on planning, executing, and optimizing drilling activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in offshore drilling engineering, be knowledgeable in regulatory requirements, and possess strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges in dynamic offshore environments.

Operations Engineer - Offshore Drilling Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise offshore drilling operations, ensuring all activities meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Analyze drilling performance metrics, identifying areas for operational improvement and recommending optimization strategies.
• Ensure that all drilling activities comply with applicable regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with offshore drilling, conducting regular safety assessments and incident investigations.
• Collaborate with offshore rig teams, contractors, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and efficient operations.
• Oversee the maintenance and availability of drilling equipment, ensuring all tools and materials meet operational needs.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for on-site drilling issues, working closely with rig supervisors to resolve challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of all operations, ensuring proper documentation of procedures, incidents, and performance analyses.
• Stay updated on the latest industry practices and technologies, driving continuous improvement in drilling operations.

Operations Engineer - Offshore Drilling Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in offshore drilling operations, with a strong background in drilling engineering.
• In-depth understanding of offshore drilling techniques, well design, and blowout prevention equipment.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and environmental standards, including BSEE (Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement) regulations.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical challenges in real-time.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work extended hours offshore in challenging conditions, including physically demanding tasks as required.
• Valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) and any relevant safety certifications.
