Description
A loan originator assistant provides dedicated support to assigned loan originator(s) ("LO") to assist in such LO's origination of first and second residential mortgages on behalf of Company. You impact radius by providing assisting LO in working loan files and by providing timely and clear communications, information, and responses to our borrowers, and also by self-generating loan volume.
Federal Definition of Loan Originator. For purposes of understanding the activities in which an MLO license is required: The term "Loan Originator" means a person who, in expectation of direct/indirect compensation or other monetary gain, performs any of the following activities: takes an application, offers, arranges, assists a consumer in obtaining or applying to obtain, negotiates, or otherwise obtains or makes an extension of consumer credit for another person; or through advertising or other means of communication represents to the public that such person can or will perform any of these activities. The term "Loan Originator" does not include a person that provides only administrative duties in support of a Loan Originator.
Duties & Responsibilities - Provide dedicated support to a top-producing Loan Officer
- Manage the Loan Officer's active pipeline with weekly meetings with assigned Loan Analyst
- Initiate contact with potential clients to obtain client information & intentions through telephone, face-to-face, or online loan application, when applicable
- Provide interest rate pricing quotes & rate lock support to both Loan Officer & clients
- Access and utilize various automated underwriting systems (AUS) to assess potential loan viability
- Submit live loan applications for disclosure & follow up with clients for e-signature confirmation
- Ensure compliance with all state & Federal laws
- Become familiar with Company loan products, application process, consumer disclosure requirements, compliance requirements, LOS origination software, and general practices of the Company
- Participate in Company recommended & mandated training sessions
- Perform various clerical tasks as required
- Other duties as assigned
- All employees are responsible for being familiar with & able to recognize common fraud scenarios or outright instances of fraud, reporting any reasonably suspected fraud to his/her direct manager & AML Officer
Requirements
- Embody radius's "Customer Obsessed" core value, with care & prioritization of customer needs Proficiency in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA loan products preferred but not required
- Mortgage Lending background, with general understanding of mortgage terms & guidelines, preferred but not required
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and auditing skills
- Extremely detail-oriented to ensure accuracy & quality across all assigned tasks
- Highly organized & able to multi-task
- Spanish speaking/bilingual preferred but not required
