Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Field Engineer to join an exciting heavy civil project in Yuma. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the project's success, from managing trade partner contracts to overseeing project documentation and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Maintain contracts with select trade partners and handle some subcontract administration, including defining work scope, answering inquiries, and supervising progress.
  • Change Management: Participate in change management and change order processes, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
  • Document Control: Maintain and perform project document control and procedures, including coordinating RFIs, shop drawing and submittal processes, and maintaining as-built drawings.
  • Design Supervision: Collaborate with the project team lead in supervising design, ensuring timely responses to the submittal schedule.
  • Submittal Review: Participate in the review of trade partners’ submittals for compliance with scope and design documentation.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with the project manager and superintendent to manage and report overall project or select scope performance.
  • Claims and Estimates: Prepare and supervise progress claims and estimates.
  • Material Tracking: Coordinate inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, expediting material orders.
  • Site Inspections: Assist with site inspections to resolve constructability and site coordination issues, ensuring compliance with functionality, AHJ requirements, and code compliance.
  • Project Closeout: Participate in overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
  • Education: Associate's or bachelor’s degree in a related subject area (construction management, engineering, architecture) preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Verified understanding of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate tasks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems with a strong ability to embrace new technology.
