Environmental Staff Analyst

Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District

Fresno/Clovis, CA

Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District takes pride in providing flood protection. Our flood control and urban storm drainage systems play a crucial role in protecting the environment in our community and is currently looking for the District's environmental spokesperson.

Do you excel in writing and public speaking? Have you been yearning to flex your strong analytical skills to interpret regulations and data? If so, this role is perfect for you. As an Environmental Staff Analyst, you will be involved in community outreach, providing classroom education and presentations to community partners. You will be writing public outreach materials, and working with vendors to produce content, as well as dissecting regulations and sharing their impacts on the District.

Responsibilities:

  • Outreach: Assist with environmental education, training, interagency collaboration, development of publications and grant management.
  • Safety First: Follow safety protocols to protect yourself and your team.
  • Teamwork: Every teammate matters. Collaborate to complete tasks efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Relations, Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least one year of general experience in a related field.
  • Reliability: We count on you to show up consistently and independently manage your tasks while communicating regularly with your manager.
  • Strong Writing Skills : Superior writing skills for our publications.
  • Attention to Detail: Spotting issues early and addressing them promptly makes the work easier.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Occasional weekend work (because the environment does not take weekends off!)
