The Dispatch Supervisor will manage the immediate aspects and conditions of field operations including but not limited to on time performance standards, service interruptions, detour management, and all other aspects of the transit service. This position will also oversee BOC Dispatchers, Road Supervisors, and Terminal Supervisors and ensure that they are accomplishing all their assigned tasks and following their unique job descriptions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Transit Operations Shift Manager will provide guidance and support to all Transit Operations personnel for the goal of maximizing the reliability and safety of our transit service for our passengers.

  • \nThe Dispatch Supervisor is a key member of the extended local leadership team by providing 24/7 management presence to Transit Operations staff.

  • \nMonitors and evaluates daily Transit Operations activities and employee’s performance including missed runs, on-time statistics, total work and pay hours, accident data, and other operations related functions.
  • \n
  • \nMonitors and evaluates employees’ performance and provides all levels of disciplinary action as needed.
  • \n
  • \nKnowledge with the entire Las Vegas RTC service (geographical) area.
  • \n
  • \nMust be knowledgeable with all aspects of bus operators, road supervisors, terminal supervisors, on -time performance monitors’ jobs.
  • \n
  • \nMust be knowledgeable with special events that occur in the Las Vegas area.
  • \n
  • \nUnderstand and follow the RTC’s (the client) and Transdev’s policies and procedures.
  • \n
  • \nEnsures performance indicators meet or exceed client and corporate expectations. Liquidated damages are kept to a minimum and failures are corrected.
  • \n
  • \nResponsible for implementation and support of business-critical operations technologies (VDS, Zonar, AVL, etc.) which requires serving as a subject matter expert on the tools and making recommendations on the best application of the tools into the operating environment.
  • \n
  • \nResponsible for managing the location’s performance, make best practices recommendations, train on technology solutions, and facilitate the implementation of those solutions. These activities, overall, support the improvement of service quality and financial performance of Transdev operations.

  • \nCoordinates the dispatching, in-service monitoring, and evaluations involved in daily transit operations.
  • \n
  • \nCompletes necessary daily and/or weekly reports for company and client to ensure service quality.
  • \n
  • \nInforms Transit Operations Manager of potential risks in the operation.
  • \n
  • \nEnsures the company vision, values and culture are understood, communicated, and promoted throughout operations.
  • \n
  • \nResponsible for maintaining positive employee and labor relations including regular engagement with all operations staff, acknowledging performance, providing coaching, promotion opportunities and overall job satisfaction.

  • \nPerforms all other duties as assigned and may assist with other areas based on location needs.

\n \nMinimum Education & Certifications Required:\n
    \n
  • \nA high school diploma or equivalent\n
  • \n
  • \nMust be skilled in customer service delivery, problem-solving, and decision-making.\n
  • \n
  • \nExcellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority.\n
  • \n
  • \nMust have a working knowledge of ADA law and ADA service requirements.\n
  • \n
  • \nTo be dependable and proficient in time management, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking.\n
  • \n
  • \nTo be able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends.\n
  • \n
  • \nProficiency using MS Office products including MS Excel and MS Word and Windows based programs.\n
  • \n
  • \nExperience in a Transit Operations position is required.\n
  • \n
