The Department of Biology at Bellarmine University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach lecture and laboratory sections of Clinical Microbiology (BIOL202) during the Spring 2025 semester. The course description for BIOL202 is as follows: "The basic principles of microbiology with emphasis on the nature and behavior of microorganisms. Students will explore the interrelationships of microbes with the human host including immunology, virology, and the control of infectious disease. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory." The class consists of undergraduate pre-nursing students primarily majoring in Biology or Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. Topics covered in lab include (but are not limited to): sterile technique, streaking for isolation, differential stains, unknown identification. Lecture section times: MWF 9-9:50 and 10-10:50. Lab section times: M12-3:00, M3-6:00, T12-3:00, T3-6:00. The spring semester extends from 01/06-04/23/2025. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Minimum of Masters degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field required. Experience teaching Clinical Microbiology at the undergraduate level is preferred.
