VFW Post 10262 a non-profit organization located in Plover, Wisconsin is seeking a half-time person to oversee the day-to-day operations of its Canteen. The Bar Manager hires, trains and manages bar staff, communicates with vendors and outside contractors, balances cash to cash register totals, attends monthly meetings and performs numerous other management duties. Responsibilities:

• Maintain inventory

• Advertise promotions at the Post

• Hire, train and schedule bar staff

• Enforce safety rules

• Create Drink specials

• Ensure cleanliness

• Balance Point of Sale cash registers daily, make weekly bank deposits, and empty video machines as scheduled.

• Maintain a calendar of events

• Develop and maintain a welcoming environment for customers and staff

• Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations regarding alcohol sales

Skills and Qualifications:

• Good Communication Skills

• Ability to set clear expectations for staff and customers

• Good Problem Solving

• Strong honest work ethic and ability to work under pressure

• Previous experience as Head Bartender or Bar Manager

• Ability to train and delegate responsibilities

• Must be bondable

• Ability to resolve conflicts and making sure decisions are made are good for both the staff and the customer

• Ability to work flexible hours, and be on call 24/7

• Working knowledge of Excel
