Job Description:

The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. Responsibilities to include:

Animation

  • Integrate and animate illustrations to support educational and marketing/pr content goals
  • Implement and develop knowledge and skill in creating video animations representative of learner and media consumer audiences
  • Develop new techniques, systems, and procedures to enhance creative production projects
  • Make calls in production scripts to pre-visualize animations
  • Animate and rig characters using Toon Boom
  • Develop storyboards for scripts

File Management and Creative Sessions

  • Maintain, organize all project files and tracking sheets within given parameters and folder structures
  • Communicate with relevant parties to iterate on and finalize all projects to meet established deadlines

Creative Development

  • Provide creative solutions for the delivery of high-quality, engaging digital content
  • Develop and maintain techniques, systems, and procedures to enhance creative production projects

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Animators and Graphic Design on production of creative content
  • Liaise with content creators, subject matter experts and instructional designers to understand and interpret creative needs
  • Attend regular team and project meetings

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

 

This position is time limited & soft funded.

Expected Salary:

$57,500 - $62,500

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma and three years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in animation for online course production
  • Experience in animation representative of learner and media consumer audiences
  • Experience working with multiple ongoing projects at one time
  • Experience working on teams with several steps including hand offs and iterations
  • Self-starting
  • Highly organized
  • Clear, open, consistent, professional communication
  • Skilled in Adobe CC apps - primarily After Effects and Illustrator
