Position: AN/BYG-1 Technical Fleet Support

Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to:

Support ILS TDA in any tasks required including:

• Reviewing technical documentation for accuracy and compliancy in accordance with existing checklists.
• Participating in Validation and Verification (VAL/VER) of Technical Insertion (TI) Advanced Processor Build (APB) Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) procedures for accuracy.
• Coordinate with the integration team to review the software build procedures (power up/power down) against real time operations. Capturing any discrepancies as redlines and submit for review.
• Support Remove and Replace procedures by coordinating with the integration team to review the hardware procedures written. Capturing any discrepancies as redlines and submit redlines for review.
• Using a pre-installed IETM with the latest software on the tactical system in the test bays, verify each display on the system matches the display captured in the IETM. Verify the information written against each display in the IETM for accuracy against the tactical system.
• Generating new Technical Manual Deficiency Evaluation Reports (TMDER) against existing technical manuals, as required. Record any display identified on the system that is not captured in the IETM as a new comment.
• Support managing existing TMDERs as required, which includes ensuring TMDERs are properly incorporated in to technical manuals and are accurately tracked in TMDER Database.
• Investigating issues with existing technical manuals reported from fleet support, including desktop and lab validation, as necessary. Recreate, troubleshoot and provide possible resolutions to TMDER adjudications on the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System (CCS).
• Collaborate with the In Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and Submarine Combat Support Control (SC2) Room team to resolve fleet Technical Manual issues.
• Support TDA in management of master schedule for all upcoming releases for technical manuals, which includes providing weekly schedule updates to the wider BYG-1 community.
• Participate in ILS TDA meetings as required, including Bi-Weekly TMDER Evaluation Meeting, Weekly GD/MIKEL Status Meeting, Weekly Tech Manual Status Meeting, CM/ILS Team Meeting, and Platform Installation Schedule/Media Delivery/ECI Status Meeting.
• Work with existing group members to support Technical Manual Maintenance Authority (TMMA) duties, which include technical manual compliancy checks and staging for deliveries.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with Technical Manual Development efforts, preferably S1000D IETMs.
• Experience with Navy Provisioning process and Naval Supply System
• Experience with RCM Development Process
• Experience with Navy Training Curriculum format and development

Work Location: Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport RI.
